Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats
My dog, Wednesday, has this thing with peanut butter. I do too. It's baking season, so I whipped up a batch of homemade dog treats for my fluffy panda bear this past Sunday, and she was in heaven. Happy trick for treat.
1 cup peanut butter (I use Wild Friends)
1 cup rolled oats (I use Bob Red Mills)
1 ½ tablespoons of virgin coconut oil (great for a healthy, shiny coat!)
¼ cup organic local honey (local helps with allergies)
2 cups fine whole-wheat flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine ingredients in large bowl. Once mixed, knead into large ball. If the mixture is too dry, splash a little bit of cold water. Roll out with pin, grab a cookie cutter, and go for it. If you don't have a cookie cutter, rolling into small balls is fine, too! Sometimes I prefer it this way, so that I can stuff them into Wednesdays Kong. Bake for 18-20 minutes.
Allow to cool. Prepare for the drool.
